A new measurement of direct CP-violation by experiment NA48 at CERN

The NA48 experiment at CERN has performed a new measurement of the CP-violating parameter Re(is an element of '/is an element of). The experiment collects K-L and K-s decays into pi (0)pi (0) and pi (+)pi (-) from the same decay region simultaneously. A new measurement of the Re(is an element of '/is an element of) parameter based on the data collected during the 1998 run is presented. The preliminary result for the Re(is an element of '/is an element of) based on data collected in 1997 and 1998 is (14.0 +/- 4.3) 10(-4).
