Generic business process repository in support of concurrent engineering

This paper presents the methodology used in the specification and development of a Generic Business Process Repository in support of Concurrent Engineering. The use of a knowledge repository for business processes can give a structured way to capture knowledge that is complicatedly mingled and reuse, and recreate explicit knowledge. The generic business process repository is thus the key component to facilitate the gathering and sharing of process based information within a concurrent engineering environment. The paper also presents the initial findings from test case business processes used to validate the feasibility of the proposed concept and design.
