Three cases of dams reparation

Three different concrete gravity dams, called Graus, Pont de Rei and Tavascan are located in the Spanish Pyrenees close to the French border. These dams were built in the sixty's. All three structures are involved in expansion pathology due to alkali-aggregate reactions. The expansions are in various stages of development and are having different effects on their reliability. We shall present a mixed waterproofing system to mitigate this process in order to improve future reliability. This has been reached by waterproofing screen and the complementary water drainage.
