摘要
As the role of the Internet is getting more and more important, new tools are needed to cope with its distributed nature. Software agents present a new method for maintaining and using heavily distributed systems. In many applications software agents changed the way client-server systems are designed. They provide simple and effective methods for accessing distributed resources on networks like the Internet. In the world of simulation the use of distributed resources for simulation execution and data storage is spreading. As most of these resources are available through the Internet, software agents can be used to find and use these resources. In this paper an agent-based resource management architecture is introduced along with some aspects of a Java implementation. An application of this architecture for the Remote OMNeT++ system is also described. The Remote OMNeT++ system is a networked remote simulation system that utilizes distributed simulation resources that in many cases reside on the Internet.
