摘要
Between 1923 and 1945, Pierre Bost published some twenty works, most of which are novels. Strongly influenced by the great French tradition of the psychological novel, Bost sought to renew the genre, in his own way, by drawing on Proust's achievement. This initial orientation can be seen in Bost's first narrative, A la porte, written in 1922. From the late 1920's on, Bost's writing evolves from the intimate to the social. His 1931 novel, Le scandale, which shows the lessons Bost learned from Balzac's Illusions perdues, expresses the confusion of the post-war generation.
