Synthesis and structural characterization of tetranuclear sulfur-centered complexes with mixed-valent gold atoms: [S(Au(2)dppf){Au(C6F5)(3)}(2)] (dppf=1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene) and [S(AuPPh(3))(2){Au(C6F5)(3)}(2)]

摘要
The reaction of [S(Au(2)dppf)] or [S(AuPPh(3))(2)] (dppf = 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene) with 2 equivs of [Au(C6F5)(3)(OEt(2))] leads to the tetranuclear gold(I)-gold(III) derivatives [S(Au(2)dppf){Au(C6F5)(3)}(2)] (1) or [S(AuPPh(3))(2){Au(C6F5)(3)}(2) (2), which contain a mu(4)-sulfur moiety. The crystal structure determinations reveal a tetrahedral coordination at the sulfur center, more distorted in complex 1 as a consequence of a short gold(I)-gold(I) interaction of 2.9561(7) Angstrom and a gold(I)-gold(III) contact of 3.534 Angstrom.
