Decision Trees as a Support in Admission Process at University

This paper deals with the use of decision tree models implemented into the admission process at selected university. At first we present how analytics can be helpful today. We then suggest the use of analytics in eduction - we propose the use of decision tree as a support in adminssion process at university. We describe dataset with twelve independent variables. We then present the methodology and the process of implementation of decison tree for admission process in R. We use the rpart packages in R to build our model. Finally, we present our results using confusion matrix and accuracy rate and suggest the further potential of using decision trees in this domain.
