What is the appropriate minimum ferrite content for Type 347 stainless steel and weld metal? We weld by autogenous gas tungsten arc welding, so the base metal ferrite content matters a great deal. We are having difficulty locating a 347 base metal that complies with API RP 582, Welding Guidelines for the Chemical, Oil, and Gas Industries.
