The Implementation of the Perceptual Memory of Cognitive Agents in Integrated Management Information System

This paper presents the issues related to cognitive agents' perceptual memory implementation - very important module of agent's architecture allows for interpretation of the phenomena occurring in the enterprise's environment. The agents operate in a prototype of an integrated management information system. The main challenge related to perceptual memory is knowledge processing, parallel with symbolic and emergent way. Additionally, a very important issue is using standardized approach due to the need to achieve interoperability. The authors present the use of a topic map standard and semantic network with nodes and links activation levels (slipnet) in order to implement perceptual memory in the Learning Intelligent Distribution Agent architecture.
