Shape retrieval based on combination moment invariants

摘要
A novel accurate shape-based image retrieval method was proposed based on invariant moments in this paper. Based on the analysis of the retrieval efficiency, four Chen's moments and three improved contour sequence moments were introduced as a new descriptor for a contour shape. Then, the new 7 invariant moments were normalized as an index. The new algorithm was compared with contour sequence moments and Chen's moments on MPEG-7 shape database. Experiment results show that the new method has higher performance and efficiency than sequence moments and Chen's moments in shape retrieval.
