The effect of complexing agents on the electrodeposition of Fe-Ni powders

摘要
The effects of complexing agents, such as oxalic acid and citric acid, on the cathodic polarization, the current efficiency, and the morphology of electrodeposited iron-nickel alloy powders were investigated. The baths were based mainly on aqueous solutions of ferrous sulphate, nickel suphate, and complexing agents. Also, the effects of temperature, pH, and current density were studied. It was found that adding complexing agents to eletrodeposition systems made them more polarized. The powders obtained were also finer than those obtained without complexing agents.
