New public management and the consequences of accountability in educational management

摘要
Based on a sociological perspective, the present work aims to contribute to a critical reflection about the implications of the NPM in educational area. For that we read the theoretical framework and explored a document on accountability in Latin-American NPM, by the Centro Latinoamericano de Administracion para el Desarrollo (CLAD). Accountability strategies were found as a provisional answer of the NPM the bureaucratic model crisis. Brazilian educational policies have been more intensively incorporated since 1990s and expanded throughout the 2000s, mainly considering the consequences of the external evaluations for educational systems and its use in educational management.
