摘要
Sexual myths are a type of beliefs that, lacking of scientific validity, contribute to creatre a distorted vision of sexuality. The present work seeks to perform a cultural adaptation and validation of the Turkish scale "Sexual Myths Scale" in Spanish university students, a sample of 402 individuals from the different faculties of the University of Almeria was used, the translation and re-translation of the instrument and subsequently their levels of reliability and validity were determined. The result was a high Cronbach's alpha value of the scale in general (a = .902), the exploratory factor analysis with varimax rotation suggested a structure of eight factors that explain 66.00% of the variance, these results are similar to the obtained by the original creators of the instrument. The results reflect that this adaptation presents high levels of reliability and validity, therefore it is concluded that the Sex Myths Scale is a valid and reliable instrument, capable of measuring the presence of sexual myths in university students.
