摘要：

The estimates of the Bureau of Economic Analysis showed that the US economy grew at a 3.1% rate in the third quarter of the year 2002. A revival in consumer spending was the primary driver of the economic growth. However analysts say that the growth in consumer spending is not likely to be sustained. The utilization rates in manufacturing and in chemicals remain below the lows reached during the 1990-91 recession.
