摘要
Composting of municipal solid waste (MSW) is an alternative to landfill and incinerration. Composting is a natural process which results in the conversion of organic matter into growing media that can be used for agriculture, horticulture and landscape. Tehran as a capital produces 7000 tons of MSW per day, most of which ends up in landfill. Recently two compost plans with a capacity of 2750 tons were established. The end products of newly made compost and the physical, chemical and fungal flora of composting MSW were studied.
