摘要
To opticalize access networks economically and immediately, we must reduce not only the cost of optical fibre cables, but also that of installation and connection work. The SZ slotted rod cable we have been developed, is suitable for easy branching with the mid-span access technique. This cable is advantageous in terms of its diameter and weight when the fibre count is high, but its cost effectiveness decreases when the fibre count is low. To overcome this demerit, we have developed a new cable with no slotted rod, which has about half the weight and 75% the cable height of current cable for small fibre count cable. To reduce cable diameter, we have optimized the slotted rod for large count cable.
