Perspective on careers in a large biotechnology company focused on research and development

As trainees consider future job options, they often have excellent examples of careers in academia. However, trainees usually do not have much exposure to career options in the biotechnology industry and they have limited network contacts to provide such information. This perspective is intended to provide some insights into working at a large and established biotechnology company. In addition, it will detail the author's observations on some of the major differences between careers in academia and biotechnology and give examples of skills that are critical for success in a biotechnology career.
