摘要
There has been, in recent years, an effort to make copper rotors for industrial use induction motors. It is to make motors more efficient because of the higher conductivity of copper. In addition, reduced losses in such motors may lead to better design flexibility and therefore motors which are more compact. However, straightforward substitution of copper for aluminum without changing whole motor design lead to make worse motor performance and manufacturing cost without changing whole motor design. This paper presents copper rotor motor design improving efficiency, reducing motor size and satisfying motor performance.
