摘要
The paper is focused on technical performance and design of the thyristor voltage converter (TVC) with an adaptive control system for a smooth start of induction motors and a power semiconductor thyristor-diode. A distinctive feature of ab adaptive TVC is that its pulse-phase control system is based on closed integrating scanning converters (SCs). All SCs operate in an external synchronization mode with supply mains frequency and are used as synchronization and phase-shift units in the control system. They essentially simplify technical implementation of the TVC and ensure its reliable operation at high external noises including commutative and impulsive distortions, as well as at amplitude and frequency instability of supply mains. All the above benefits allows application of these converters at the facilities with problematic mains and at stand-alone power supplies of limited capacity. The paper shows TVC's implementation results, technical and economic indices of asynchronous electric drives used for process facilities at the Chelyabinsk pipe-rolling plant.
