摘要
Substation structure design process innovations are described for 230/66 kV substations in Syria. Hot-dip galvanized lattice-steel structures were designed, procured, and constructed to support high voltage cables and electrical equipment. Substation towers consisted of one-, two-, three- and four-bay space-frame structures. The design of these four tower types was based on a detailed design of the two- and three-bay structures. The approach to using the design of two tower types to justify the adequacy of four multibay tower types is described. A total of 1,300 tons of structural steel was purchased in the United States and shipped to Syria for this project. The structural steel detailing was completed electronically, and the drawings were transferred over the design engineer's bulletin board for review, comment, and return to the fabricator and detailer. The implementation of computer software to develop the tower structural steel design and the cable sags and tensions is described.
