摘要
We show how the Randall-Sundrum geometry, which has been proposed as a scenario for the universe realized as a 3-brane embedded in a S-dimensional spacetime, arises naturally as an S-5 dimensional reduction of a supersymmetric 3-brane of type IIB supergravity. In this construction, the S-5 scale-setting "breathing mode" plays a crucial role, permitting one to evade certain "no-go" claims for the possibility of such a super-symmetric realization.
