A design of server management mechanism for multi-node systems

摘要
This paper proposes a server management mechanism allows both on-line and off-line diagnostic functions from remote site and provides a centralized console for multiple nodes. Our mechanism including an embedded board called SDC (Server Diagnostic Card) is composed of several software modules. The PCI-based SDC is installed in each node. The software modules run on the server, the SDC and the remote system and communicate among them. In multi-node system environment, our mechanism helps the system administrator eventually can manages the system level as well as node level.
