摘要
Future vehicle electrical systems functioning on a voltage of 42 - 48 V, have been discussed since the end of the 1980's; this is in anticipation of the need for greater power which is too limited with the 12 V system. During the second half of the 1990's, the "green environment policy" asking for a reduction of emissions received increased attention, plus vehicle safety related issues. This paper addresses challenges for 42 V systems and potential challenges of incorrectly specified circuit protection components.
