摘要
A short review of recent developments in the area of the fractional quantum Hall effect is presented. The article attempts to develop some intuitive images of the highly-correlated electron behavior. It emphasizes the new states at half-filled landau levels and their composite fermion quasiparticles. Recent theoretical calculations promise yet more bizarre electronic states to be discovered by experiment. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
