The determination of β-cyclodextrin by ultraviolet spectrophotometry

摘要
In the presence of appropriate amounts of beta-cyclodextrin, the absorbance(A) of procaine solution at lambda(max) (290nm) increases and the Delta A appears to have a linear relationship to Cbeta-CD With regression coefficient (r) 0.9987. This paper proposes ultraviolet spectrophotometry (UVSM) for determining beta-CD The method is based on measuring the increase in absorbance at 290 nm for a procaine solution upon the addition of beta-CD solution. Conditions for the UVSM determination of beta-CD and interference from alpha-CD and gamma-CD have been studied. Meanwhile, to compare with the method, the phenolphthalein spectrophotometric(PTSM) experiment has been done with satisfactory results. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
