摘要
The implementation of web services in a defense business will inherently take advantage of and be encumbered by, the unique environment that characterizes the Aerospace and Defense Industry (A&D). This paper gives a perspective of that environment by setting the historical context for the influences affecting the current state of web services in a business unit of Raytheon - that is the Missile Systems business (RMS). It will describe the criteria and rationale for current implementations using web services within the Information Technology (IT) function at RMS. It will also give insight into the future direction of web services related activity within the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).
