Formation of macromolecular metal-complexes in aqueous solutions of carboxyl-containing copolymers. The role of intramolecular interactions

摘要
The composition and stability of macromolecular metal-complexes formed by different carboxyl-containing copolymers and the ions of polyvalent metals (Fe3+, Al3+) were determined. The amount of Fe3+ ions bound with copolymer was estimated by a variation in the absorption spectra of aqueous solutions. The stability of the copolymer-metal ion complexes was studied by the luminescence quenching of a polymer solution labeled with luminescent ions, the process being related to the lifetime of these ions in the complexes with macromolecules.
