Suicide in the former czechoslovakia: a cross-national perspective - David Lester - Homeostasis 37, 3, 1996 - Epidemiological trends in Czechoslovakian suicide rates were compared and found to be somewhat consistent with world-wide trends. However, the time-series Czechoslovakian suicide rate was inconsistent with predictions made from Durkheim's classic theory of suicide. Finally, current theories of the etiology of suicide were used to successfully derive a linear regression equation which predicted the Czechoslovakian suicide rate quite accurately.
