摘要
The visual culture of animation films recreates discourses, messages and ideologies in the realm of fiction which are then taken as models for real life by the consuming audience. The American production company Disney stands out, because for almost a century of existence it has offered a colonialist and heteronormative vision of society. We focus our attention on its collection of "animated classics" to qualitatively analyze how the concept of romantic love evolves, what are the stereotypes that persist and how this term changes its meaning and paradigm according to the context of the movies' plot. After revealing Disney's tendency to defend an anachronistic idea of love when compared to the one of current daily life, this type of film criticism becomes relevant to further audiovisual literacy.
