First record of the deep-water shrimp, Plesionika williamsi Forest, 1964 (Decapoda, Caridea, Pandalidae) from Japan and Taiwan

摘要：

A deep-water pandalid shrimp, Plesionika williamsi Forest, 1964, is recorded for the first time from waters around Japan and Taiwan at depths of 250-340 m. Although this species has been suggested to be cosmopolitan, it has no previous record from the northern Pacific. The present record substantially extends the known geographical range of this species. The morphological characters and coloration of the northwestern Pacific material are described and illustrated. Brief notes on the taxonomy of Plesionika species known from Japan and Taiwan are also provided.
