摘要
Social vulnerability comprises the risks involved in exposure to a threatening situation and the strategies outlined by social movements to mitigate this complex scenario. Following this epistemological context, the article examines social vulnerability in a case study, the Seville neighbourhood of Tiro de Linea. The analysis is based on the methodological triangulation of different sources (documentary, journalistic, statistical, cartographic, interviews and surveys of members of urban social movements, etc.). A Social Vulnerability Indicator (SVI) has also been developed, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques with the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This method, through the information provided in the surveys, allows neighbours to define weighted criteria between the quantitative variables previously selected with a correlation matrix. The results of the research indicate that two of the six census tracts in the neighbourhood have high social vulnerability. Thus, the interaction between different vulnerability factors (socio-demographic, socio-economic and socio-housing dimensions) responds to neighbourhood concerns about the risk of vulnerable situations such as high unemployment or the predominance of single-person households made up of people over 65 years of age.
