摘要：
The guest editorial section of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics informs about the significance of industrial communication systems. It informs that industrial communication systems are increasingly deployed in many different fields of applications such as factory automation, motion control, process automation, networked control systems, building automation, and automotive systems. Paolo Ferrari, Alessandra Flammini, Stefano Rinaldi, and Emiliano Sisinni have published a paper entitled 'IEEE 1588-Based Devices Using a Profinet IO Infrastructure to present their research on clock synchronization and discuss its significance as an industrial communication system. it is informed that the availability of wireless networks allows the implementation of hybrid communication systems for industrial applications. Two types of configurations play a key role in such implementation where the first type is relevant to the wireless extensions of wired systems that realize the connection of a few wireless nodes to an established wired system.
