Bending moment measurement in case of non-uniform temperatures distribution

摘要：
Hull stress monitoring systems are effectively used for hull girder stress control of large seagoing vessels. It is known that the monitoring accuracy especially in harbour conditions and during ballast operations is affected by thermal stress. In this paper the effect of non-uniform temperature distribution in the hull of a 38000 tDW bulk carrier is investigated. A set of Temperature Sensitivity Coefficients (TSC) is determined. The affect of in-service temperature distributions are analyzed. TSC are used to obtain stress levels in positions of mounted Long Base Strain Gauge (LBSG) during loading/unloading of ship.
