摘要：

A brief introduction is given to high energy electron-proton interactions at the HERA collider. The article focuses on deep-inelastic scattering at high momentum transfers, electroweak interactions of neutral and charged current processes with polarised e(+/-) beams and one example of a search for signals beyond the standard model of particle physics.
