New method of repair of full-thickness eyelids' defects

摘要
New method of repairing of small full-thickness eyelid defect is suggested. The repairing of small full-thickness eyelid defect was performed by vertical moving tarsoconjunctival flap to defect area. Thus the tarsoconjunctival plate of eyelid is restored. Skin defect could be rebuilt by moving on its place either the adjacent skin or by a full-thickness orthotopic skin autograft. 23 patients were operated by using this method in 2000-2001. 3 (13%) patients during their post-operating period have moderate colobomalike eyelid defect. Later the improving of the operation technique allowed to eliminate this defect. This procedure appears to be a safe, reproducible, and effective for surgical treatment of small full-thickness eyelid defects.
