Laser-induced fluorescence spectra of CO(B-X) molecule

摘要
Rotational distributions of the CO molecule were measured from fluorescence excitation spectra for the (v', v('')) = (0, 0) band of the CO(B-1 Sigma(+)-X(1) Sigma(+)) system. In the course of the present investigations, CO(X(1) Sigma(+)) molecules were detected by vacuum-ultraviolet laser-induced fluorescence (VUV LIF) method by generating coherent tunable narrow-bandwidth vacuum-ultraviolet radiation. The probe laser was used to excite specific v, J states of CO(X(1) Sigma(+)) molecule to the CO(B-1 Sigma(+)) between 115.13-115.19 nm. The coherent tunable narrow-bandwidth VUV probe laser radiation was generated by two-photon emission resonantly enhanced with the 6s6d(1)D(2) state of Hg vapor using a four-wave sum mixing (2 omega(1) + omega(2)) technique.
