Research of variable speed playout technique in streaming video/audio application

Along with die development of streaming media technology on die Internet the requirement to VCR (Video Cassette Recording) functionality of streaming media is also increasing gradually. This paper proposes a now real-time continuous video/audio variable speed playout scheme, which can be applied in streaming system. Unlike the traditional local variable speed schemes, in streaming media, varying speed of video is achieved by altering its sampling rate while varying speed of audio needs change the length of data units., Depending on the protection of the synchronization, real-time continuous variation of speed can be guaranteed At the later, the experiment shows that preferable effect is achieved by this scheme in actual streaming media application.
