The transport and magnetic properties of BaFe2-xMnxAs2 single crystal samples are investigated by means of resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, thermopower, and electron spin resonance studies. No superconductivity is observed in these compounds. Our electron spin resonance study reveals that the intensity of a paramagnetic signal monotonously increases with increasing Mn doping content, indicating that the introduction of Mn leads to the localization of the Mn/Fe 3d electrons. It is suggested that the Mn ions act as the local scatterers, which hardly interact with neighboring Fe ions. The present results partially explain why the BaFe2-xMnxAs2 samples are not superconducting.
