Executive Team Pay Gap and Executive Team Turnover Rate: A Perspective of Tournament Theory

摘要:
Based on the tournament theory, this paper proposes several hypotheses on the relationship between executive team pay gap and executive team pay level and executive team turnover rate. Using the 2013 data of the mainboard A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen for empirical research, the results show that executive team pay gap has a significant positive effect on executive team turnover rate; and the executive team pay level can regulate the relationship between executive team pay gap and executive team turnover rate.
