摘要
A comparative study has been conducted on the LCF an HCF of three types of stainless steels representing ferritic, austenitic and ferritic-austenitic duplex microstructure. The initial results are presented relating to general mechanical properties, cyclic response and fatigue lives in the LCF and HCF regime. An attempt is made to resolve the cyclic state in terms of frictional and back stress resistance to dislocation movement and relate the balance of these to the fatigue performance. The results show that larger frictional component in the deformation process lowers the fatigue performance of the material and thus in LCF the best and worst results are provided by the duplex and ferritic steels respectively.
