Industry analysts state that a new series of conferences are needed for German materials science professionals, to increase their knowledge about the field and make them aware about its role in the national economy. It is observed that the country's economy depends on materials, as more than 70% of new products that are available in the market, are made from materials. It is also observed that around 40% of the country's gross production relies on materials, with annual sales of 1 trillion Euro and the employment of about 5 million people. These factors reveal that the materials industry plays a key role in the development of technology and progress of the economy of the country. It is suggested that efforts also need to be made to increase student enrollment in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) courses. It is expected that such efforts will lead to the creation of more materials science professionals.
