摘要
In their research the authors proceed from the hypothesis that oil has an abiogenic origin and, in the process of cyclic endogenous activity, is continuously generated in the Earth interior. A number of factors of manifestation of cyclicity of endogenous activity of the Earth have been shown. If this point of view is correct, it means the practical inexhaustibility of oil reserves. This actualizes the presented research. The explored oil reserves in the Russian Arctic are large and modern technologies allow it to be extracted. At the same time, the authors have highlighted the whole complex of difficulties of oil producing in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Among these are high cost of oil from the Arctic shelf; the opinion that oil reserves will only last for three years to meet global demand; major environmental problems in case of oil spill; lack of approved technologies for oil extraction and transportation; the need to invest in scientific and technological development, etc. The paper advocates the position that continuous abiogenic oil recovery can significantly affect prospects of oil extraction in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
