EVALUATING AND IMPROVEMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY OF KINDERGARTENS IN SERBIA

One of the major challenges of kindergartens building in Serbia is how to address the existing variations in the pattern of environmental quality across different facilities. This study examines and compares environmental quality of existing buildings in the service phase. The study explains and confirms that quality of kindergarten implies something about the environmental surroundings, the ecological material and the energy efficiency, both of which promote the health, comfort, aesthetic and emotional wellbeing of the occupants. The finding of this study therefore demonstrates that the kindergarten is more than a mere shelter, but a combination of several factors, forming a pattern that is extremely diversified. The paper concludes that appropriate policy and strategies should be put in practice in order to improve environmental quality within different kindergartens in Serbia.
