Design principle and variant structure of a controllable reactor of transformer type

摘要
While designing a controllable reactor of transformer type (CRT), the winding currents must be examined carefully because they determine the size and the temperature-rise of a CRT. In the paper, taking a CRT for example, the current of each winding of the CRT was calculated in every controlling step. Furthermore, by deriving and resolving the mathematic equations of a CRT, the general formulae for calculating the current of each winding were obtained. From the calculated results and the general formulae, the design principle of a CRT should be: (1) Weak Coupling-electromagnetic coupling among control windings must be very weak; (2) High Impedance-the shortcircuited impedance between the work winding and each control winding must be high enough. According to the design principle, a variant structure of CRT was presented. The design principle and the variant structure of CRT presented here underpin the further analysis and design of a CRT.
