All-optical Generation of Quaternary Amplitude-Shift Keying Signals through Parametric Amplification

摘要
In this work we present experimental results concerning a new technique that uses parametric amplification to merge two binary signals into a single quaternary amplitude-shift keying (4-ASK) signal. We also propagate such quaternary signal through a 75-km long standard fibre link; the measured eye-opening penalty was lower than 1 dB.
