摘要
The aim of this article is to carry out a brief review of the main teaching approaches in foreign languages acquisition, paying special attention to the role of translation in each one of them. We have reviewed some of the researches that have proved the benefits of the use of translation within the classroom. These investigations show that if translation and didactics have crossed their paths, maybe it is time for teachers to accept translation without preconceptions, as a methodology which, combined with others, allows an efficient acquisition of the language.
