This article argues that the emotions of moral behaviors in the Analects are secular, as well as that, the emotions lies in daily life calls on happiness of moral behaviors. According to The Analects, the Confucian emotions are ethical as well as the moral behaviors, and it suggests that the ordinary people could have the same feelings as the Sages if they live by the same ethical rules. The article concludes by suggesting that the emotion is the key to understanding the moral philosophy of Confucius.
