摘要
Mathematical model of solidification of ingot in a chill mold has been investigated and formulated in the paper. The model is solved with numerical implicit alternating direction method. Formula for heat transfer coefficient for ingot and chill mold is time dependent. Solidification algorithm has been given with tridiagonal coefficients, and has been solved with computer SPERRY 1106 in ASCII FORTRAN. Time of solidification and optimal stripping time may be obtained on the basis of the model.
