Ureterocele Masquerading as Obstructive Uropathy in a Sexagenarian-a Classical Image

Ureteroceles diagnosed in adults are usually asymptomatic. Ureteroceles can rarely cause obstructive uropathy and urosepsis. We present a 65-year-old gentleman with urinary retention and recurrent urinary infections. He had developed multidrug-resistant urinary tract infection and acute kidney injury. He was detected to have bilateral single-system ureteroceles. We performed ureterocele incisions and his serum creatinine normalized. We report this case for its rarity and diagnostic dilemma and as that ureteroceles in adults may need definitive treatment under certain special circumstances.
