A network model of hysteresis based on elementary cells made up with piece-wise linear resistors and a linear capacitor has been presented in the literature and its theoretical properties have been investigated. This model allows to simulate hysteresis in a circuit solver without requiring any modification to its source code. Despite its appealing features, some cautions must be used for the treatment of the interface between the model and the rest of the circuit and for the handling of nonlinear resistors which can introduce some convergence problems in the network solution. These topics are investigated and some results on a simple test case are presented and discussed. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
